About our Program:  Now that the Town has voted to build a new community Center our program structure will require a lot more flexibility.  We have not been given an official time line for the demolition, or construction but our temporary housing will be Bryantville Elementary School.  Pembroke Recreation's After School Program offers a safe, fun environment for children in grades kindergarten through sixth to enjoy after the school day. Children participate in sports, arts & crafts, board games, air hockey and more! Children in the "Homework Club" work on their homework for an hour every day. The children also enjoy the outdoors at the Community Center courts, ball fields, playground, and town green. Our goal is to have the program for the entire school year but not all things have been finalized so we are offering a few months at a time. We will open or close things as the TOWN MANAGER updates Recreation on the building phases . 

Single Day participation will NOT be available!

Transportation
Transportation from Pembroke Public Schools must be coordinated by the parent/guardian registering the child. You must fill out and submit an “Alternate Bus Request” form to Lori Jacobs, Pembroke Public School’s Transportation Coordinator.

Finances
  • The annual membership fee is required in order to register into the After School program, the registration fee of $30.00 per child. Please also register for all the dates in advance to secure placement .
  • The After School program is a self-funded program meaning that the revenue generated pays for the staff salaries, all supplies & equipment. Our goal is to keep the cost reasonable and affordable for all. A 30 day notice is required for cancellations.
  • There will be no credits or refunds given on any accounts due to a child being absent from the After School program. If your child is absent of an extended period of time due to illness a doctor's note must be presented to request a credit or refund.
  • Monthly: This option is $200.00 a month and does includes half days. All payments are due on the 16th of each month for the next month enrollment. Delinquent participants will be assessed a $20 late fee per child for each month the account is delinquent. Payments can be made online by credit card or debit card; payments by cash or check will be accepted in the office.
  • ******Multi-Child Discount: Second child discount $150.00/month with the monthly option only. Still required to pay the $30.00 registration fee for all children.
  • ******August: All participants must register for individual days.
  • September: Due before August 16th
  • October: Due before September 16th
  • November: Due before October 16th.
  • Remaining months of the school year will be added once we have a definite construction plan and confirmed temporary housing
  • December: Due before November 16th
  • January: Due before December 16th
  • February: Due before January 16th
  • March: Due before February 16th
  • April: Due before March 16th
  • May: Due before April 16th
  • June: Due before May 16th
  • *****Weekly: This option is 75.00 per week and pro-rated for weeks that are less than five days. All payments for weekly participants are due the Friday of the preceding week. Delinquent participants will be assessed a $20 late fee per child for each week the account is delinquent. Payments can be made online by credit card or debit card; payments by cash or check will be accepted in the office.

School Vacation Weeks
  • During school vacation weeks the After School Program is not in session.
  • However, we may offer a separate program during vacation weeks.

Absence Policy
  • For the safety of your child, please CALL the office (781) 293-3249 or EMAIL (sroche@townofpembrokemass.org or jfulmine@townofpembrokemass.org) in the event your child will not arrive off the bus as scheduled.
  • If your child does not arrive and we have not received a phone call, then we will contact the parent/guardian and the school to ensure the safety of your child.
  • Please help us from focusing on a child that is safe, by calling or emailing if your child will not be arriving off the bus as usual.

Homework Club
  • You will be asked at checkout if you would like your child to work on his/her homework 3:15 PM (not to exceed one hour). This will help us to ensure that your child/children try to complete their homework- if you would like them too.
  • Please be advised that our staff are not tutors and are not responsible for signing agenda books or for teaching your child.

Proper Attire
  • FACIAL COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED. (updated 8/20/21)
  • The children enjoy playing outdoors whenever possible. Please send weather appropriate clothing.
  • Sneakers are mandatory to participate in gymnasium and outdoor activities.

Snack
  • We have a NO-PEANUT POLICY. Please do not send your child/children with any product containing peanuts.
  • Please provide your child with a snack and drink. Time will be provided when the children arrive to eat their snack.

Closings/Cancellations
  • The After School Program follows the school schedule; if school is closed then the After School Program will be closed.
  • If school is dismissed due to inclement weather Recreation will remain open with skeleton staffing until all children can be picked up.
  • If school is cancelled due to inclement weather there will be NO After School Program.

Dismissal:
  • Anyone picking up a child is asked to check-in with either the office or a staff member for verification. A photo ID is required in order for us to confirm that you are authorized to pick up the child. We discourage parents from picking the child up from outdoor locations and asked that you come into the office and we will radio out for your child to be brought inside.
  • Pick-up is NO LATER than 6:00 PM. We realize on occasion one may arrive a few minutes late; however repeat offenders will be charged a late pick-up fee of $20.00 for the first ten minutes and $10.00 for each additional five minutes after that will be charged. All occurring late fees must be paid prior to your child's re-admittance to the program.

Code of Conduct
Proper behavior by all program participants is expected at all times. Participants shall show respect to peers and staff, refrain from foul language, and be respectfully of equipment, supplies and facilities. The Recreation Department reserves the right to temporarily suspend or terminate individuals who cannot exhibit proper behavior.
